The 'Dragon' Lovespoon Carved from a single piece of white beech ( Gmelina leichhardtii ) a native Queensland timber, contains on the front, motifs of; a fire-breathing dragon with some celtic features, celtic knot work intertwined with flowers that emerge from a large leaf-clad heart that containins a heart-shaped swivel and chain link. The stem of the spoon is straddled by the dragon and passes through the knotwork and the flowers, emerging through the dragon-fire to deliver the paired hearts contained within the spoon's bowl, which is gilded inside with 24 carat gold leaf. The spoon is finished with artist-oil-tinted danish oil, to give an 'antiqued' modelling glaze to the spoon as a whole and to add some contrasting tone to the dragon.
