Queensland lovespoon - Lovespoon Gallery

'The 'Qeensland Lovespoon' is carved from a single piece of white beech and features a swivel entering an open heart at the top of the cage for two caged balls. The caged balls are surrounded by an open circle motif signiying movement and return. This open circle form holds the Southern Cross constellation, which is emblematic of Queensland, a bass cleft music symbol and a wanderer butterfly. Below this, on the front of the lovespoon, is the Welsh Dragon and on the back an inlaid silver ash heart. Below the dragon is a section of celtic knotwork leading down to the heart-shaped bowl with gilded interior.
